FightBox is proud to announce that King of Kings, one of the most recognizable brands of kickboxing, will return to live action from Istanbul, Turkey on Friday January, 28th 2022 starting at 6:00 pm CET (7:00 pm local time).
King of Kings returns to Turkey, where some of the wildest moments in KOK history have taken place. Local KOK promoter Burak Mataraci along with Erkan Varol always deliver a night of unpredictable and memorable fights.
The main attraction of the evening sees two of KOK’s top lightweights going head to head when Elkhan Aliyev takes on Masoud Mineai. Aliyev won the 2018 KOK WGP tournament in 2018 in London, stopping both his opponents. He later beat top British fighter Nathan Epps in London in 2019 and was being groomed to be a contender for Henrikas Viksraitis’ KOK Lightweight Championship before the pandemic. He is currently 5th in the KOK Lightweight rankings. Mineai is a world-class fighter who is 4 - 0 under the KOK Turkey banner and has competed in other top promotions such as Glory and Mix Fight Championship and is currently ranked 3rd in the KOK Lightweight rankings.
In another featured bout Thomas Doeve of The Netherlands faces Turkey’s Ali Damak. Doeve is a protégé of K-1 legend Peter Aerts and has competed in Turkey before, knocking out Turkish fighter Cengizhan Kuru in September of 2021. He is also known for his amazing fights in other top European promotions such as Colosseum Tournament Kickboxing and Senshi. Damak has accumulated several victories in KOK Turkey over the years and has established himself as one of the promotion’s top homegrown talent.
