FightBox is proud to announce that King of Kings, one of the most recognizable brands of kickboxing, will return to live action from Athens, Greece on Saturday April 20th 2024 starting at 7:00 pm CEST (8:00 pm local time).
KOK is set to debut in Athens, Greece this Saturday in an event which will showcase many newcomers to the promotion. Coming off of a massive event in Vilnius, Lithuania in front of about 9,000 spectators one month ago, King of Kings now enters new territory and hopes to find more rising stars.
In one featured bout, Greece’s Meletis Kakoympavas will take on Italy’s Badr Ghazy in a lightweight contest. Kakoympavas, also known as “The Nightmare”, is a seasoned veteran fighter and one of his country’s most accomplished lightweights, having fought all over Europe in many top promotions. Over half of his 41 wins have come by way of knockout. Ghazy is not as experienced, but is hungry to prove he can compete with the best and is looking to make his name in this fight.
Also on the card is a middleweight contest featuring Giorgos Makrakis of Greece against Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Benjamin Poturak. Poturak is the son of former K-1 fighter and former KOK European Heavyweight Champion Dzevad Poturak. Can Benjamin follow in his father’s footsteps and become one of the top kickboxers in the world or will Makrakis get the win in his homeland? The full fight card for the evening can be found below.
