FightBox is proud to announce that King of Kings, one of the most recognizable brands of kickboxing, will return to live action from Helsinki, Finland on Friday May 17th 2019 starting at 6:15 pm CEST.
KOK makes their debut in the country of Finland for the promotion’s sixth big event of the year. The main attraction of the evening is a four-man Featherweight WGP Tournament. In the first semi-final matchup, Poland’s Dariusz Skoczek takes on Lauri Suomela of Finland. Then, in the second semi-final, Latvia’s Janis Freimanis faces Pok Biil of Finland. The two winners will square off later in the evening in the finals of the WGP. It’s possible, therefore, that we could see a rematch if both Freimanis and Suomela win their semi-final fights. These two top-ranked featherweights fought once before in October of last year with Freimanis winning by unanimous decision.
The second portion of the event, the KOK World Championship 2019, will not be shown live on FightBox, but will be re-broadcast about two weeks later. This part of the event features a KOK Middleweight World Championship fight between Daniel Forsberg and Raimonds Aukstikalnis. You can read more about this fight here. The full fight card for the evening can be found below.
