FightBox is proud to announce that King of Kings, one of the most recognizable brands in kickboxing, will return to live action from Riga, Latvia on Saturday February 17th 2024 starting at 6:00 pm CET (7:00 pm in Latvia).
King of Kings returns to another hot spot for the promotion, Riga, Latvia for their first big event of 2024. The first half of the card is the MMA Bushido 91 event featuring six fights, four of which are under MMA rules and the second half is the KOK World Series with five of the six fights under kickboxing rules.
In the main event of the KOK World Series, we see a rematch between Jan Pelak of Poland and Kristaps Zutis who has a huge fan following in his home country of Latvia. These two first met in Tallinn, Estonia in October of last year when Pelak finished Zutis inside of two rounds after Zutis gassed out early in the fight. It’s also noteworthy that their first encounter was under kickboxing rules, whereas this bout will be four-round boxing match. Zutis has sworn revenge and Pelak is out to prove his dominance once again.
Also on the card is a heavyweight MMA rules matchup where Dainis Zageris, one of the most decorated Strongman competitors of all time, will make his MMA debut. Zageris’ feats of strength, endurance and power have been well documented over his historic career as a strongman competitor, but it remains to be seen how he will fare once he steps into the world of MMA for the very first time. His opponent is Sergei Jakovlev of Lithuania who was defeated by Kristaps Zutis at the last KOK event in Riga. The full fight card for the evening can be found below.
