Colosseum Tournament Kickboxing XXVII - LIVE from Oradea, Romania 20.09.2021

FightBox is proud to announce that Colosseum Tournament, Romania’s biggest kickboxing promotion, will be live from Oradea, Romania this Monday September 20th starting at 6:00 pm CEST (7:00 pm local time).

Colosseum Tournament Kickboxing is back for what has the potential to be one of the biggest events in the promotion’s history. Two title fights headline the card as well as super fights featuring Colosseum’s biggest stars.

In the main event, the Colosseum Tournament -70 kg championship is on the line as champion Sorin Caliniuc makes his second defense of the title against Stoyan Koprivlenski. Caliniuc’s meteoric rise in Colosseum Tournament has been amazing to watch. He burst onto the scene in 2020 with a victory over Andrei Ostrovanu at CT XXII before beating Gabriel Bozan for the Lightweight strap the very next event and later defending his title over Moldovan journeyman Vitalie Matei. His opponent, Stoyan Koprivlenski is a product of the world famous Mike’s Gym in The Netherlands and is a Glory Kickboxing veteran who holds wins over the likes of roughhouser Arbi Emiev, top Romanian fighter Cristian Milea and fan favorite Mohammed Jaraya. Both men have been talking it up in the lead up to the fight with Koprivlenski’s coach Mike Passenier promising “punches in bunches” and Caliniuc responding by saying he’s going to show him how much a fight can hurt. One thing is for certain, this fight will certainly attract the eyes of the kickboxing world.

The co-main event features another title fight when Anghel Cardos and Eduard Gafencu once again cross paths, this time for the -77 kg title. The first time these two fought was in February of this year and Cardos won a razor thin decision which to this day remains the only blemish on the otherwise unbeaten Gafencu’s pro record. In this fight Cardos is looking to close the mouths of any naysayers once and for all and Gafencu is looking to prove he is still the best knockout artist in Romania today. Also, waiting in the wings as the next challenger for the title is Flavius Boiciuc who actually defeated Cardos at the last Colosseum Tournament event to become the next contender for the title. The full fight card for the evening can be found below.
