FightBox HD is proud to announce that Cage Fury Fighting Championships, America’s top regional MMA promotion, will return to live action on Sunday the 22nd of May at 2:00am Central European Time (8:00pm EST on Saturday May 21st in America).
A long-time feud will be settled in the main event as former CFFC Heavyweight champion Plinio Cruz (8 - 6) will face Azunna “Zulu” Anyanwu (10 - 4) for the third time in his career. In their first fight in November of 2014 Cruz won by decision. Then, eight months later with the CFFC Heavyweight Championship on the line, Anyanwu squeaked out a five-round split decision victory. In the meantime, Cruz picked up another win at CFFC 55 and Anayanwu was also victorious at CFFC 57, setting up the rubber match for the vacant title on May 22nd.
Another fighter who was successful on FightBox at CFFC 55 back in January was Jordan Morales (4 - 1), who got a hard-fought win over Claudio Ledesma. He returns to take on Ricky Bandejas (5 - 1), who is looking to rebound after suffering the first loss of his career at CFFC 52 in October of last year. Altogether there will be eight MMA rules fights. The full card can be found below.
