Over the years there has always been cross over between mixed martial arts and professional wrestling. Going back to the 90’s in the formative years of MMA, now legendary fighters like Ken Shamrock, Dan Severn and Tank Abbot have all traded in their gloves for a pair of wrestling boots. There have even been a few wrestlers who have made a name for themselves in MMA, most notably Brock Lesnar and Bobby Lashley.
With Bellator MMA and TNA Wrestling both on the same network, it seems that former UFC star Quinton “Rampage” Jackson is not only going to be fighting in the cage, but also pulling double duty in the squared circle as well.
Jackson (32 – 11) has had his ups and downs in the UFC, but has always managed to entertain. He holds big victories over names such as Chuck Liddell, Dan Henderson and Wanderlei Silva among others, but having lost his last three fights parted ways with his former employer.
Jackson follows in the footsteps of another charismatic fighter who signed a duel Bellator / TNA contract last year, Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal. Lawal has appeared a few times on the TNA television program, but has yet to have an official debut in the ring. After making the jump from Strikeforce, Lawal is 1 – 1 inside the Bellator cages.
