FightBox is proud to announce that King of Kings, one of the most recognizable brands in kickboxing, will return to live action from Riga, Latvia on Saturday April 1st 2023 starting at 6:00 pm CEST (7:00 pm in Latvia).
King of Kings returns to another hot spot for the promotion, Riga, for the first Latvian event of 2023. The main feature of the evening is a four-man WGP bantamweight tournament. In the first semi-final fight Beka Gabisonia of Georgia will face Arsenijs Nikolajevs of Lithuania. Both men are 19 years old and are just starting their pro careers. A win in this tournament would immediately gain them international notoriety. Then, in the second semi-final fight Maks Kowalewski of Poland takes on Ismail Al Khadhi of Cyprus. The debuting Kowalewski is going to have to face the most experienced fighter in the tournament Al Khadhi who has competed for KOK on a number of previous occasions, including winning KOK Interim Championship at -57 kgs last summer. He also recently had a fight for K1 in Japan. The two semi-final winners will square off later in the evening to decide the tournament champion.
Also on the card is the always entertaining Rodrigo “Mineiro” Ferreira who takes on one of the fastest rising stars Latvian kickboxing has as the moment, Einars Goldbergs. In recent years both men have proven they can hang with the best of the best in KOK, but only one can emerge victorious in this highly anticipated matchup. Ferreira has promised a first round knockout. Can he deliver? The full fight card for the evening can be found below.
