Results for KOK Fight Series from Sakarya, Turkey 02.03.2019

King of Kings returned to live action on FightBox HD for the promotion’s second event of 2019 from the city of Hendek in the district of Sakarya, just outside of Istanbul. The event was co-promoted with Erkan Varol who is the Turkish promoter for KOK in Turkey. The event was a bit unusual for KOK as nearly all of the bouts were held under full Muay Thai rules with the exception of few opening fights under boxing rules and one MMA fight.

It was a wild night with many spectacular fights including one of the biggest upsets in the history of KOK in the main event. Local coach of the Hendek Muay Thai team Onur Arslanoglu was defeated by a 27 year old debutant from Uzbekistan, Javlon Ergashev.

It seemed that the main event was a fight that Arslanoglu simply could not lose. The Turk, who is not only a trainer at the local Hended Thai Boxing club, but also helps prepare amateurs for the national Turkish Muay Thai team, came into the fight with a record of 10 - 5 with 4 wins by KO. His opponent, Ergashev, showed very little technical skill during the contest, but somehow pulled off the upset of a lifetime when he knocked down the much more experienced local hero not once, but twice, with the second knockdown ending the fight. The full results for the evening can be found below.
